I haven't done a WFMW in awhile... go here to and check out some other great ideas for what might work for you!!
So, I normally wouldn't write about traveling much because we haven't had the opportunity to do it much these days. But even for a work trip, I would try to take Lil M with me instead of leaving her for several days. First, I just don't think I could be away from her more than a night or two (and that's tough). Second, I'm not sure that I want her to have to go through that stress. I know that sometimes it is absolutely necessary to travel without your family, but if I can... I do (have them travel with me).
Of course, this costs extra money. So, when/if this happens, I have to take care to save what I need beforehand, or else I'd be in a bad spot. But I'd rather save than be away from Lil M for days.
Ok, but if I did have to travel, I would use skype. I would call my daughter probably two or three times a day, if schedules would allow. I would also probably get her some little gift items beforehand and have the caregiver give her those each day while I was away... maybe something that talks about Mommy or Mommy/Daughters.
Maybe that's not a good works for me wed post... let's see. What else works for me? Lip balm. I should buy stock in the stuff. And I don't mean that old nasty chapstick. I mean some good, softer-gliding lip balm with some type of SPF in it. I use it every day... in the winter due to cold. In the summer due to the sun.
What works for you?
Peace.

Never leave home without my lip gloss from bath and body. Infused with mint and SPF. I love it!
I think that is a perfectly valid WFMW. I would add to have several lip balms around. Does anyone else ever seem to lose theirs daily? Or maybe it's just me :)
Followed you here from the link in the comments of my Create a Link Within a Comment Post. Good job!
I love China! It's amazing how going there bonds you with it somehow. Someday I'm taking my kids! Happy WFMW!
I love lip balm and carry some in my pocket every day at work.
Your daughters are beautiful! I have a 6 year old niece who was adopted from China and 7 and 10 year old nieces from Russia. We can't imagine life without them!
I think you would be in agony if you found yourself so much as one day without Mia. Unfortunately, perhaps one day you might have to travel without her but I think you'll put up a heck of a fight to try to take her with you.
The only thing is to make sure you leave her with someone you know is highly dependable, sane, safe, and capable of handling a child. I'm sure a responsible and loving parent like you has that worked out and considered already (thank God). I get white knuckles when I think of parents entrusting their children to sources that are less than reputable.
it might have to happen someday, tom, but i hope it doesn't!! lol
i do have a great person to have care for lil m if i'm out of town (my other half), it's more that i'd miss her too much!!!
