Philosophically speaking (I know this may sound lofty and melodramatic; it's not intended that way) it is our moral duty as human beings to grow to love someone more than we do ourselves. I believe that in my life I’ve been able to that and (for sure!) you have too (just look at what you've been through since the adoption began).
